Hi! Guess what. Brady and I have been blessed again! We have been offered to live in a home in Midway, UT while a senior couple goes on a two year mission. I am so excited and feeling extremely grateful! We will move at the end of this month. Anyway, here is a quick recap of the last 3 months!

I know, I know. I'm horrible! I don't know what's with me lately. I think it's the fact that I hadn't uploaded any pictures from my camera since JULY. So last Friday I was stressing and wanted my hair done that night!! I couldn't get an appointment anywhere, and if I could it was like $100+! Ridiculous. So I ended up having my cute friend Keri, who has NO experience at all, do it at midnight. It turned out AMAZING! What do you guys think? Is a hair career in Keri's future?! I think yes!!! :)

Summer Update

Wow. Slightly embarrassed at how long it has been since I actually blogged. I think I was feeling a little overwhelmed with how much I have to update. So I apologize and I promise I will try and do better! Summer has been awesome and I'm super sad it is coming to an end.

1. Brady and I were on a co-ed soccer team with some of our friends. I've never played soccer in my life. Literally I had to Google "how to play soccer" before our first game. Ha! I have to say I progressed pretty well and even made a goal during our last game!

2. I threw a random YSA (Young Single Adult) party at my house one night. I invited shelley and a few of her friends up to Heber for a burn barrel to make smores and hang out. Little did I know, a few of her friends texted their friends, then they texted their friends. Ended up having half of King Henry at my house while Brady's parents were out of town. In the mean time, Brady had a guys night in the family room playing XBox. It ended up being really fun and funny too haha.

3. For 4th of July we went on our annual Carlsbad, CA trip for 10 days. I was so happy because this is the first year Brady was able to come!! And we both got to go for 8 days. It was the best. It is so fun being together!! Can't wait till next year!

4. While we were in California we got to meet up with Brady's sister, Abbey and her husband Matt at the Angels game!! It was soo fun and I'm so happy we got to see them. I wish we lived closer!

5. My family came up a couple times this summer, but the last time they came up was for our good friend Parker Jardine's mission farewell. My dad treated us and took us to The Garden restaurant, which is next to The Roof. Unfortunately Brady was driving for the business that night, so he couldn't make it, but it was so delicious and so fun to eat up there! I took this first picture on my phone. Isn't it beautiful??

6. I've gone to 7 Peaks almost every Saturday, even if it is by myself or just for a couple hours. I love it!!

So there is the recap of our summer so far!! We are going camping/hiking next weekend. We've stayed busy and have had a ton of fun. We've gone to the farmer's market and concert in the park almost every week. We've been to a few Owlz games and mini golfing at Trafalga. And we even went on a beautiful 6 mile hike. I love it!! I'm excited for football to start thought! :)

Today is mine and Brady's second anniversary. I really cannot believe it has been two years since we were sealed in the Mesa temple. I don't know what I would do without him. Happy Valentine's Day! It's so cliche, but I really love Brady more every single day. Yesterday we both spoke in church and I told a little bit about our history and how we met. Brady then got up and told his side of the story. It was pretty funny. Here are some pictures from when we first met! Brady was only 22 and I was 18! We got married a little over two years later when I was 21 and Brady was 24. I love you Brady!

So I take a hip hop class after work every Monday and Wednesday. Thirty minutes before I get off work, I go change into my hip hop clothes so I can go straight there. Today, I was in the bathroom stall changing, mind you it is kind of an ordeal because I wear several items of clothing each day haha. So I'm finished changing in the stall and I can't get the lock to unlock. I'm locked in the bathroom stall!!!!!!! Nobody else is in the bathroom, so I had to army crawl out. I was SO GROSSED OUT!!! EW FREAK! The end.

The Holidays

Brady and I went to Arizona for Christmas and it was THE BEST. It had been way too long since we had been down. It was extra great to be with my dad, who a lot of you might not know that he just had brain surgery to remove the tumor that came back after 11 years. Learning of the news of my dad's tumor reappearing was really eye opening and made me think about how special my family is to me. I couldn't help but cry on Christmas eve with all my family and cousins around me!! I love my family!!!!

I got Brady "Lord of the Rings: Risk Trilogy Edition" and he was sooo excited and loved it! These boys came over to play 3 nights in a row and each game lasted till about 3:30 AM!

We hiked Camelback Mountain! Best weather EVER!!!! I love nature.

Went to dinner with all my best friends from high school and wished we could be in high school again because it was SO FUN!!!! I love them!!

For New Years Eve, we went to the Yard House for dinner and watched fireworks on top of a parking garage in Tempe with Lauren and Ryan! The fireworks were right above us!! I really do not want these two to move to Arizona.

We also went and hung out with Brady's sister Abbey and her husband Matt. I LOVE THEM! I really wish we could live closer so we could hang out more because it is always a good time. Love you guys!

Announcement!!!!!! My husband, P. Brady Fish, got the job in the marketing department at UVU!! I'm so proud of him! He is still going to school, but this is not a student position. It is a normal, part-time job so the pay is great and hours great too!!!!! I'm so excited and grateful for everyone who has been praying for us, but most of all I am so proud of Brady for being amazing!!! Love you!!

It's been a while. That is because we have had so so many changes in the last couple months. Like, A TON of changes. The following "post" was written on 8/11/10, but I didn't post it because as I was writing, I received a call from UVU about a job. UVU was my first choice because Brady works here, goes to school here and we love Utah county!

So I really didn't know what was going to happen, but in the end I worked at the University of Utah Hospital for 7 weeks. I got a job offer from the Behavioral Science Dept. at UVU and could not turn it down. I've been at UVU for a week now and I am sooo happy with the change. It's amazing how thing just seem to work out!

I now give you, my post written on 8/11/10.

I, Brittany Fish, got a job!!!!!! I am so excited right now!!!!!!!!!!! It is the best job I have applied for and I just can't even believe how blessed I have been.

As some of you may know, Brady and I had to move in with his parents in Heber, UT because I could not get a job anywhere for over 3 months. I was extremely sad to leave our perfect, cute apartment and our ward. I was just called into Young Womens! But Brady and I knew we couldn't do it anymore.

We have been in our new, tiny bedroom for a month now and it is honestly the best thing ever. It is so funny how one second you can be so distraught and the next moment so very peaceful. I have absolutely loved living here for the past week and I know I will enjoy it for months to come.

The job search was very discouraging. I have never had a harder trial in my life. I had applied for over 70 jobs and had only 3 interviews. Talk about depressing! I was super close to getting one of the jobs too, even had a 2nd interview. But in the end, I had nothing. I couldn't compete with people who had masters degrees and 15 years experience!

When I applied for this job, I was basically a robot. Find a job, click apply, upload resume, rewrite cover letter, done. I kept an Excel spreadsheet of my current jobs applied for, the location and what the position was. Once I got an e-mail rejecting my application, I would take it off the list. The most I ever had applied for at one time was 32.

I applied on July 28. I got a phone call on August 3 asking if I could interview the next day. Of course I said yes. My interview went extremely well. I was there for an hour and a half. I felt really good about it, but I didn't want to get my hopes up.

Okay, so what is the job?! I am going to be an Executive Secretary for the CARMA Center at the University of Utah Hospital. WOW, right? CARMA stands for Comprehensive Arrhythmia Research & Management Center.

Now onto the important stuff. I have been praying and fasting for a job since the beginning of April. I was on the verge of being obsessed with finding a job. I would search for jobs online for hours. In the beginning I was picky, but by the end I was applying for everything, even in other states.

My dad organized a family fast last Sunday, August 1. It was the last day at "our" ward and I was very emotional I knew Heavenly Father had a plan for me, but at the time I really couldn't see past a day. My whole family fasted, including my in-laws.

Monday morning, I got an e-mail from a company in American Fork who wanted to interview me on Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon I get an phone call from the U wanting to interview me on Wednesday. Wednesday morning I get an email from another company wanted to interview me next Tuesday. Wednesday afternoon I get a call from yet another company wanting to interview me next Wednesday.

The blessings just started POURING down. When it rains, it pours. It was one of the most awesome experiences I have ever had because everyone's faith and prayers revolved around ME! Can you believe that? Not even 5 days later and I have an awesome position offered to me!!

All I can say is THANK YOU! Thank you to my family, friends and co-workers at UVU. I could sincerely feel the support and prayers this past week. Now I know what people are talking about when they are sick and say they can literally feel the prayers being said on their behalf.

This is going to be a journey to say the least. The hospital is in Salt Lake City on the University of Utah campus. After a year, Brady can transfer to the U and receive tuition benefits. We have health insurance! This is the best!

All the benefits apply to UVU as well, except instead of a 50% tuition discount, tuition is free :)

We have been in Heber for 2 and a half months now, and we have no complaints!! Brady and I both get along great with his parents, and we have adjusted to the small space just great. I'm so grateful to have such awesome in-laws! THANK YOU!

Summer Update

Summer has been much better!! Here are a few updates.

1. We had the Fish family reunion in Heber, UT on July 1-2. It was really fun to get to know Brady's family better. I finally met 2 of Brady's brothers who I had never even met before!! One of them is married with 4 kids even haha. It was really great!

2. I went to California with my family. Brady wasn't able to come, but he stayed home with his family so I didn't feel too bad. The weather at the beach was rather unfortunate, but it was still fun to be with my family. Going to the beach is my favorite vacation ever!!! This is where I celebrated 4th of July. Random fact: Brady and known/dated each other for FOUR 4th of July's and we have never been together on any of them. We have been married for 2 of them and still have never had one together. Kind of sad bc it is one of my favorite holidays!

3. I went to girls camp for a day. I only went one day because I had to work then we had the reunion. It was a different experience than I was expecting. It is much different going as a leader rather than a girl. You are probably thinking "Um, yeah. Duh" But really, I thought the leaders have just as much fun. Well it is different when you are new in YW and 20 years younger than the other leaders. Puts me in limbo, but I still had fun with my girls.

4. I went to Youth Conference. This was super fun! My yw and I are closer now and we had a lot of fun activities. BBQ, water fight, fireside, testimony meeting, floating provo rivier. Good times.

5. Brady and I are going to California this weekend for our friend Keri's wedding!! YAY!!!! I am so excited to have a mini-vaca with Brad-dawg. It's been way too long. And he deserves a small break from his school classes during the summer. We are staying the night in Vegas on Thursday night with my old roommate Carrie and I am super excited to see her and meet her husband!!

6. We went on a walk last night and the sky was so beautiful. This summer, I have realized how beautiful Utah is!! I love it!! Last Saturday, Brady and I rode 120 miles on his motorcycle! We went up the canyon to Park City. It was wayyyyyyy fun!!

7. Brady and I have been playing cards...a lot. Like every night haha.

8. The only negative thing right now is that I still don't have a full time job. I had a 2nd interview for a job on Wednesday, but I think it fell through. I know something will come soon though!!! I hope :)

This has been an interesting summer so far. It is really different being 22 rather than 15 during the summer. It's not as exciting. It's also different living in a place where there is no pool to hang out at or go swimming. I definitely do not like that. I am excited for the Fish family reunion this weekend and I am excited to go to California with my family on Saturday. I need to do some "summer" stuff. Any suggestions??

He predicted what needed to happen in game 2 of the finals, and he was correct. He really is amazing. Anytime he says something, an ESPN commentator says it an hour later.

I know these "job" posts probably get really annoying, but I need help!

I graduated at the worst possible time. I've read several articles that say getting a job is almost as hard as it was during the great depression. Yeah, I know you're thinking, "Wow. That's a little extreme." I thought so too. Until now.

I know it has only been 1 month since I graduated, but the frustration is really starting to kick in. Right now I am still working in my student position in the Dev. Math Deptartment at UVU, which I am extremely grateful for. But 20 hours a week at a student's pay is really not making the cut.

I've applied for several jobs. Interviewed for a few. And been hired by none. I've come to realize that the only way I will be able to get a job is through networking. So this is why I am asking you, my fellow blogging friends, if you have any leads at all.

I have a dream

This is next story is one of the reasons why I love my wife as much as I do. She is (at times) so sweet, trusting and simple.

Today when we were on our way to work we stopped at the Gas-N-Go to get what my Grandpa Jim calls an “awesome”. Going and getting an awesome, to him, is going to any gas station or 7-11 and buying a fountain drink or a Slurpee. I got the new Mountain Dew White Out, which by the way is effing delicious. Apparently it’s one of their 3 new flavors in which you can get online and vote for. I encourage you in your civic duties and urge you to make your voice heard at democracy.com

Anyways, at some point while we were inside I wanted to tell Brittany about a dream I had but we got sidetracked and by the time we got back in the in the car and she asked about the dream I had forgotten what it was about. Instead of telling her I forgot, I decided that I was going to describe a movie that she had more than likely seen, and pass it off as my dream until I had explained so many details that Brittany would eventually say something like, “Wait, that’s not your dream, that’s just du du du du du duh.”

Didn’t happen.

Me (not so slyly): So my dream takes place in the 30’s 40’s era, right around World War Two and the Great Depression.Brittany (shocked/impressed that it’s a time film… err, I mean dream): Whoa-uh, 1930’s?

Me (dismissingly): Yeah, whatever.

I proceed to tell her that in the dream I was a golfer and a really good one at that, I was naturally talented and an all-around happy guy and that Brittany and I were in love. But, because of the time that the dream took place in, I ended up getting drafted along with everyone else from the town and went to war. During the war everybody in my company gets killed and come home to a ‘Hero’s Welcome’ but inside I feel guilty that I didn’t die.

Brittany: Like post dramatic stress or something?

Me (with a small bit of sarcasm): Totally.

I tell her that during the end of war and in the midst of the depression that Brittany’s dad builds the most beautiful golf course in the country. (In real life Brittany’s dad loves golf). Sadly, before he could see it completed he died of some unknown causes and Brittany ends up finishing his dream and decides to have a players invitational inviting all of the best golfers to come a compete for a huge purse. Even at this point it hasn’t registered with Britdawg that I’m describing a movie she even comments on the amount of detail I have about this dream.

Me: I know, right?

So I tell her that the dream continues on and that the people of the town suggest that somebody from the town should actually compete in the tournament and that this little boy suggests I play, much to the towns chagrin because since coming back from the war I’ve become an alcoholic and I don’t golf anymore. Then out of nowhere this vagabond arrives and inexplicably starts helping remember the game of golf and how much I love it. I leave out the part about him only wanting to be paid $5 bucks and given a new pair of shoes, but now I realize that I totally could have added that detail and she would not have been any wiser.

For those of you reading at home, you’ve probably figured out what movie it is. I’m describing, in depth, the plot to The Legend of Bagger Vance. Directed by Robert Redford and stars Matt Damon, Will Smith and Charlize Theron. We pull up to the school and finish describing the movie to Brittany and I almost can’t contain myself and blurt out that I’ve just described a movie that, although not critically received well, most everyone – including her – has seen.

Brittany: You should make this into a movie babe, I’m serious.

Me (holding a straight face): Yeah right, this could never be a movie.

Brittany: No really, its sounds like a Nicholas Sparks book or something.

Absolutely. Incredible.

Guess who is the author of the 1995 same titled book that takes place in the south, just like all of his movie/books, on which the movie is based? That would none other than author Steven Pressfield. Gotcha. I had to Google it to see if it was even a book at all and Nick Sparks didn’t write it, but how AMA-ZA-ZING would it have been if he did. Brittany would probably have even read it in addition to having seen the movie.

At this point I want to see how much I can get away with, and I am even starting to suspect that Brittany knows that it is movie and that in reality I am the one who is getting punk’d, but Britt isn’t the greatest of actresses and I can tell that she genuinely does not know that I’m basically explaining this movie word for word. Pretending to play along with her suggestion of making this dream into a movie I ask her who should play me.

Brittany: Jake Gyllenhaal.

Me: Nah, his features are too dark. We need someone that looks more All-American. Blonde hair, ya know?

Brittany (pondering this): Ummm….

Me: Oh I know… Matt Damon.

Brittany: I don’t know..

Me: Matt Damon for sure and we could even get Charlize Theron to play you because you’ve said that people have told you that you two look alike.

NOTHING!! THAT GETS ME NOTHING! I know that she has seen this movie. She cannot have only seen The Italian Job and Mighty Joe Young. I know that she could not have seen Monster and as far as I’m concerned that was not Charlize Theron in that movie. That movie made me want to get like 11 jobs and never help anyone on the side of the road especially a woman. Instead she is just trying to think of other people that could play Matt Damon’s character. I even go on to suggest that we make the caddy black because the movie takes place in the south during the 40’s and it’d be edgy and what not.

Me: How about Denzel Washington to play the caddy… ooh oh oh! Not him. Will Smith, even better.

Brittany: No. Ew. I was thinking Morgan Freeman and he could narrate it like he does in all of his other movies.

Me: He’s too old. The movie should have Matt Damon, Will Smith and Charlize Theron.

We had been in sitting in the parking lot discussing this and now it was time for me to go into work and as I’m getting out of the car Brittany tells me that she will do research about the (our) movie and hits me with her famous one liner,

“I know stuff.”

Of course you do sweetheart. Right now I’m thinking about renting the movie from Blockbuster and watching it with her tonight, but she’ll probably have read this before that can happen but who knows. At this point I feel like I can get away with anything.

New Calling

Have you heard? I got a new calling. I am no longer teaching the 4 year-olds with Brady. I was kind of sad at first because I really do love those kids, but most of all I loved teaching with my husband.

The first day I went to youg women's I knew it was where I was supposed to be. I LOVE IT.

I am the new laurel's advisor.

First Anniversary!

May 15 was our one year anniversary!! I honestly can't believe it has already been a year. It seems like it has flown by, yet it also feels like we have been together forever. We had been contimplating what to do and had several different ideas, but in the end we both decided we would have fun sleeping in, going shopping at the outlets in Park City, going out to dinner and going to a movie. Honestly, it was perfect!!! It was such a fun day and a great weekend!

I woke up early (like 8:45 haha) and made crepes for breakfast. It was yummy! I made Brady a movie of all our pictures from the first year with one of my favorite songs. I surprised him and let him watch it during breakfast!! Brady wrote me a nice letter for my gift, which I loved. Keep in mind my birthday was only 3 weeks ago and my graduation was 2 weeks ago so he had spoiled me with many many gifts haha.

Anyway, shopping was great! We found some great deals at the outlets. Then we decided to try a new restaurant called Red Rock in Park City. It is officially our favorite restaurant!!!! Oh my gosh. It is so so good!!!!!! We were excited and happy we tried something new.

That night we saw "Letters to Juliet." It was better than I expected, and Brady has no feelings about it really haha.

I am at work right now so I dont have any pictures but I do want to share this quote I found. It's mostly about before you get married, but I still love it because sometimes there are hard days and quotes like this are what make it easier to get through.

Birthday and Graduation!

It's been a while since we have posted and I don't like that! My 22nd birthday was on April 23 and it was seriously the best birthday yet. It was my first birthday married and I don't know why, but that makes it better haha. Brady got me the best presents and had a cute sign up with decorations. Love him. I don't have many pictures because my camera was delivered to me later in the evening from Arizona.

Basically I didn't have school that day because it was a study day, but Brady still woke me up at 7 because he was too excited for me to open my presents :). Then we went to Mimi's Cafe for breakfast. After we both went to work for a little bit then went to Lauren's graduation bbq, which was great! Then Brady threw me a little surprise party which was the best present ever. Later that night we went and saw Date Night! SO YA! It was a great birthday and I love my husband. And my mom also sent me the greatest gifts too!!!

The next week was my graduation at UVU. I graduated with a degree in Communications (public relations). My family and my grandma came up and it was so fun!! And two of my sisters in law came in town and one of my brother in laws too! So I had so much support and I am so grateful! Thank you Mom, Dad, Emily, Shelley, Davis and Chase too :), Grandma, Lauren, Ashley, Marie, Holly, Ginger, and Todd for being there for me! It's great being finished with school, but now I am on the hunt for a full time job and it's really not super easy, so if you hear of any jobs LET ME KNOW! :)

Well I hope everyone is having a nice week. Mine and Brady's first anniversary is on Saturday, May 15!!! I can't even believe it!! But that is another post in itself :)

Oh ya. We kind of got a puppy. Not really, but I like to think so. Brady and I had been looking at dogs for like a month straight (you know how you get obsessed with just searching stuff like that?) Brady always wants huge dogs and I wanted a little one so we both agreed that we would just never have any. Ok that is not entirely true, I decided that, but in the end I know I would sucumb to Brady and his need for 2 big dogs.

Anyway, a couple weeks ago our landlords who live above us had this puppy on their back porch always. I thought they might be babysitting it or something and I loved it! One day I was leaving to go pick Brady up from work and I stopped to play with the puppy. Sherri, our landlord, came out and told me it was theirs. She is a 9 week old Akita and I'm literally obsessed. Brady and I both are! Her name is Suki, but I just like to call her puppy haha. Basically I play with her every day when I get home.

It's great because we get the perks of having a dog, but don't have to do anything for it! Sweet. She is already getting bigger. Oh ya, she is going to be medium sized. So Brady is happy that she won't be a tiny dog and I am happy because I just need a friend sometimes during the day. I love her!

March Happiness

Spring break in Arizona was absolutely amazing!! It's definitely been the highlight of my year thus far. The only thing is that I didn't take a single picture. It's funny because I forgot my camera when we went down for Christmas, so this time I made sure I had it and my charger.

I thought about taking pictures, but I just didn't want to. It's like the time we spent down there was so simple and sweet, I didn't want to ruin it's "naturalness" by taking a photo. Does that make any sense? I mean I could've taken a picture of all us girls hanging out by the pool every day, but then it becomes a staged or posed event. And I didn't want that. I didn't want to take a picture of any of it because I wanted it to feel like it was normal for Brady and I to be there. Normal for us to go to the movies, lay out by the heated pool, watch BYU games with the fam, go bowling and out to breakfast. I am happy I don't regret my decision of subconsciously not taking pictures.

On another note, I love how the sun is starting to set at like 7:40 now. It's starting to feel like warmer weather is on it's way and its great!! All the kids in our neighborhood are out on the streets playing with each other till 9 at night. It's the best! I don't even know them, but I smile and wave at them just to show my support for them playing outside.

Also, graduation is coming. Slowly, but surely, it is coming. Lauren and I have a thing that if you say "Before you know it _________________ will be here" then it comes faster. Somethings I will not say, because I don't want it to come fast haha. Others, I say all the time. If you know of any full time jobs out there, let me know.

Spring Break BABY!!

So next week is Spring Break and I am so excited!! We are driving down to Arizona on Tuesday night to hang out with my family. I am looking forward to 80 degree weather for sure. My parents are going to heat the pool and we will just have the best time going to dinner, watching movies, playing games, laying out, staying up late and sleeping in. I can't wait! It seems like forever ago that it was warm outside or summer for that matter. Probably because I never did anything outside or summer-like in Texas. This summer, its going to be different!

I'm 3 months...

Overdue for posting these pictures. HA! I bet you thought I was going to say pregnant. No, no. That will not be happening for another 3 or so years, so don't hold your breath.

I just imported these pictures to my computer and looking back all I can think is, "Wow. Brady and I have a great life and so much fun! I LOVE HIM!"

Reminiscing on old times is one of my favorite things. I love looking at old pictures, especially when you come across that one picture you never noticed before and it makes you laugh.

Our attempt at getting a last minute Christmas card picture. It was Sunday evening after a day of napping and not fixing hair or make up. Haha needless to say, we didn't use it.

Our first Christmas tree! If you don't know, I work for the developmental math department at UVU. I've been there almost 2 years and this Christmas tree and ornaments have been on a shelf the entire time. So we borrowed it for the season. Ha!

Pictures from Raegan and Joey's wedding! We drove down for a couple days, but were actually in Utah for Thanksgiving with Brady's family. It was a quick trip, but lots of fun!

This is how I feel right now about the constant snow since 11 pm last night...

And it's not stopping. We've probably already recieved 6-7 inches. Seriously. This is why I am wearing my velor sweat suit and uggs at school right now.

I normally never wear sweats to school, but this is a protest. Like 10 minutes after I got to school I regretted wearing my sweat suit because I feel like a slob. But still, I am protesting this snow!!!!

I still haven't gone to Home Goods. I've been kind of sick and trying to take it easy so it will go away. I just did my second workout dvd and I felt like I got a lot more of a workout, but I still wasn't sweating. I was bugged. I am going to try some of the other options people mentioned.

I'm so done with winter. Seriously. I know it probably gets annoying for AZ kids to hear how sick everyone is of the cold, but seriously. This weather is a trickster. One day it is 50 degrees and sunny and then today it is a blizzard outside. It gets depressing. I can't wait for spring break in Arizona! Laying by the pool, shopping, going out to eat and just living life! Can't wait!

You know, sometimes life gets really hard. I get down pretty easy and find myself comparing our situation with others, when in reality that is the worst thing a person can do. I just want to give a shout out to my Brady. He works super hard for us and always has a positive outlook. I love him.

So remember my last post? How I was going to make my own wreath? I did everything I said I was going to.

I event went to TJ Maxx AND Ross. Now I am depressed. Everything is crap!

I went to JoAnn's and Michaels and I just stared at the flowers and the foam wreath bases. I don't know what to do. I wish we had a Hobby Lobby here. Lame.

I think tomorrow I will trek my way up to Salt Lake to go to TJ Maxx Home Goods store. They better have something.

The only reason why this is so important to me is because our door decor is the only holiday/seasonal decor I ever sport (with an exception of our baby Christmas tree).

Anyway, wish me luck for tomorrow!

Today I am going to make my own wreath for spring. I had the cutest, big, red, sparkly heart on my door for Valentine's day, but it is time for spring!

I went to JoAnne's and everything they had was ugly.

I went to Tai Pan and everything they had was cute. It was also average $50 a wreath. No thanks.

I want to go to TJ Maxx Home Goods store (my favorite store ever) but it is in Salt Lake.

Maybe I will go to the normal TJ Maxx, but sometimes that place drives me crazy (if you know what I mean).

So pretty much I am going to be crafty because I love it and make my own wreath. I will post a pic when I am finished!

BUNS OF STIZEEL

So I did my first workout video yesterday. I had already ordered the dvd from Blockbuster before everyone had a chance to comment, but I am way excited everyone gave such great suggestions because this dvd was not the greatest.

It was the updated version of Buns of Steel. Ya I don't have a butt. So I thought it would be great to work on it and try to get super cute for the summer.

Bad news.

The dvd was sooo boring!! Seriously. I was doing all the moves and the whole time I was just thinking "I could stop this whenever I want and watch Ellen..." But I didn't because I didn't want to be that typer of work out girl.

Needless to say, Brady traded in Buns of Steel for another movie last night. I have the Pussycat Dolls workout in line to come next, but it says it is a long wait. Ha!

Until then, I will test out some of the suggestions you guys gave! And by the way, my buns and thighs are surprisingly sore today so I am not even mad that I don't have another dvd to work out to.

New Hobby

Since my hobby of writing my thank you cards came and went in a matter of 5 hours, I have thought of a new hobby. I am going to get fit for the summer! Unfortunately I just signed my gym membership over to Brady because I never used it, but I have an idea.

I am going to rent workout DVDs and do them in my living room!! I'm pretty excited. I already have my first DVD coming in the mail.

Do you remember the Barbie workout video? I thought that was the best thing ever.

What is your favorite workout DVD?

Cross dressing/Cheater

About two turns from our house, I saw this lady in her driveway who appeared to be waiting for someone to pick her up. Sometimes having a sick and twisted mind, I initially thought that she was waiting for her secret lover to come and pick her up while her husband slaves away a work. This thought was encouraged more when I saw her turn and appear to head back in to her home, but as I drove past and was farther away she came back out to the curb.

My thoughts then jumped back to when I was 8 or 9 years old and I had a paper route in the mornings. Either my sister Holly or my mom would drive me and there was particular street that had a man who enjoyed to cross dress. As we drove down the street we would be able to see him waiting, pacing back and forth, with blonde wig, bright mini skit and pink high heels. We would drive up, pop his paper into paper tube and drive to the next one as he would make his way from his drive to retrieve his paper. I would say that he would do this about 2-3 times a week.

Its weird how memories are triggered because I had forgotten about that man doing that years ago, but after driving by the lady who I thought was cheating I can remember it as if it was yesterday. I wonder if he still does that and if that lady really was waiting for her secret lover....

You guys....I seriously spent about 5 hours today doing my wedding thank you cards. 98% of them are written, sealed, return address written, and addressed.

Now just to put stamps on them and put them in the mail. I can do it. I am a classy woman!

Be My Valentine

I love Valentines Day because I love love. Some people think it is stupid or pointless, but I think it is great.

Mr. Fish surprised me with some super awesome boots. Unfortunately the fit wasn't quite right, but he is still a sweetie.

A dozen red roses + a card that made me cry = best Valentines day ever.

Last Valentines day we were in Arizona so Brady could ask my dad for permission. I love it. I love him.

I made pink pancakes with chocolate chips for breakfast. Then I made a yummy roast for dinner. Our little 4 year old CTR class was adorable.

How long did it take you to send out your thank you cards for your wedding?

I was really good when it came to my bridal shower. They were out the next day! People got them before my wedding (my bridal shower was a week before my wedding).

I haven't sent out my thank you cards for our wedding gifts yet. I've read a couple of times that it is proper to send them out within a year. So I have 3 months left. I've written 75% of them, but I just need to address and stamp them!!

This is my motivation. I need to do it. I will do it. I'm a classy woman. That's all.

Its about time

Finally, this blog actually looks like a blog. I think that there are more pictures than actual post on this thing. We need to change that. It kind of bugs me (it's Brady by the way). So lets just get to it and do blog stuff by talking about what we did today.

Brittany and I went and saw the movie 'When In Rome'. What a sucky experience that turned out to be. First off, Brittany won these free movie passes from Dove soaps and lotions online, and we were treated to up to $24 dollars of movie passes (but they had to be used in one transaction) and naturally we used it when tickets were the cheapest for a matinee. Of course.

So we originally had planned on seeing 'When In Rome' but when we got there Brittany was worried about how full the theater was, and it turned out that 'Dear John' was less full. Naturally, Brittany is wanting to get the best deal possible (either that or she just cannot make up her own mind without losing sleep on her decisions) and asked the ticket girl if she had seen both and which was better. Homegirl said that she liked Rome cause it was more light hearted and that was her style - but in the back of my mind I was not too sure about the advice this chick was giving us. We eventually pulled the trigger on 'Dear John' and made our way to our seats. Before we sat down Brittany went to see if Rome was really that full while I went in to our show. Obviously it wasn't and now I'm blogging about how fired up I am from watching such a stupid movie. We both were really bugged about it and it nearly ruined the night, luckily 6 Taco Time tacos and a JCW pastrami burger scarfed down in front of The Bachelor salvaged what it could.

Right now I think I just want to watch some of Step Brothers and call it a night, but Britdeezy is watching her beloved HGTV Property Virgins so I doubt that is gonna happen. Until next time faithful readers, we're chuckin the deuce.

So I work part time and go to school full time and have an internship, but I still feel like I have soooo much free time!! Like too much. I want to be busier. I would get another job, but I can't because nobody wants to hire someone with a schedule as random as mine. I'm going to start volunteering somewhere, but I need something for myself too.

This is my question. I need a hobby. A cheap hobby that gets addicting. What are your ideas? What are you addicted to?! I seriously can't think of anything. HELP! Thanks :)

For my internship with Vida Tequila I have worked at a few parties at the Sundance Film Festival up in Park City. Needless to say, it has been quite the experience.

Brady dropped me off at noon on Saturday. Right when I walked in, I was put to work. Guess who made the hors d'oevres? Thats right. I did! It was so weird. I made like frozen pizza rolls from Costco. Seriously? Ya. My boss was not in charge of this party. It ended up being alright.

Right after that lunch ended, we had to put together a dinner that Ben Affleck was hosting. I was working so hard!! I can't even tell you how much alcohol I moved up stairs and down stairs and just everywhere! It was pretty cool. The party started and I actually ran into Mr. Affleck himself. Yes, I got a picture with him. And yes, he is good looking in person. I got to eat dinner with him and the cast of his new movie: The Company Men.

The next party was hosted by Bill Murray. Do you know who he is? Yeah remember the movie "What About Bob?" That's him. I got to chat with him for about 10 minutes. We didn't get a picture because I felt awkward asking. He was a little out if it if you know what I mean. But he was way nice and really wanted me to go skiing? Weird.

Later that night, Brady was able to come to one of the parties. I was sooooo happy he could come!! I needed a friend. He came at 11 and then we just got to party with everyone! We danced and ate and drank free stuff and just had a ton of fun. Unfortunately, we didn't take any pictures.

We got home at 3 AM!!!!!! I was there for 14 hours and working for probably 11. It was so exhausting, but worth it. I had to be back in Park City at 9 am the next day. It has been snowing super bad so it takes like an hour and 15 minutes to get there. I wanted to leave at 7:45 am but accidentally set my alarm for 7:45. That's what happens when you are so tired.

I worked a brunch on Sunday morning for Robert Duvall. He was Vince Vaugn's dad on Four Christmases and a lot of other movies. Check him out.

I was checking people in for the brunch and I checked in Tom Arnold and asked him his name. Do you know who he is? I didn't until a few girls were freaking out inside when they saw him haha. He is a comedian.

The New Year!!

I can't believe I haven't posted since Halloween!! Well actually I kind of can because last semester was rediculously busy!! This semester is much better. I honestly can't wait for summer to be here. It seems like it has been winter for a year already. I'm sick of waking up when it is still dark and having the sun go down at 5:00. Not fun! Anyway, for Christmas we were down in Arizona and it was so great!! The weather was awesome and we did a lot of fun things with my family. We weren't able to drive back when we were planning because it just kept storming in southern Utah, so we took advantage of that and went to our cabin so Brady could go snowboarding with my mom, Shelley, Chase and Davis. I stayed in the "lodge." It wasn't much of a lodge....but it was fun! When we came back to Utah, Brady's brother Todd was in town from Washington so we went to Heber almost every day! We spent New Years with his family and had a fun time. I was ready for school to start again, just so it can BE OVER and I can finally GRADUATE in APRIL!! WOO HOO!!! Also, I cut my hair.

This is my week!!!!!! So I enter contests ALL the time. Somtimes they are scams, and that doesn't make Brady happy, but hey I WANT TO WIN!!! And guess what! This week I won 2 things! I can't even believe it. I was screaming at work because I was so excited!! The first thing I won are these super cute blocks! I am so so excited!! It is one of the best tequilas on the market today. It's in all the hot spots around the country! I will be planning events for the Sundance Film Festival and other big events with celebrities. Yesterday I went to a presentation/tasting for a new vendor location (Fiddler's Elbow in Salt Lake. We are having an event there next Wednesday night and anybody can come!

Today I've been working on the invitations for the event. I am so excited to be working for them. I was told their last intern is now working in New York City for Elle magazine. Pretty sweet right? And don't worry, this doesn't mean I drink now. Who says you need to drink to plan the parties? :)

Halloween!

October 3o started off with going to my good friend Katy's halloween party! We were pretty late because Brady got off work so late, but it was still so fun to catch up with her! As you can see, I am a witch, Brady was a beer guy from Germany (I don't know what he called it) and Katy was Amelia Earhart. Emily's costume was a jester and has a funny story to it. My mom was going to mail her a princess costume, but it didn't get to her in time. This costume was in the storage room of the people who live above us, so I just let her use it because I didn't think they would mind. It's cute huh!

This is Brady putting on his SERIOUS mustache. The hairs were not even connected to anything. It was pretty intense.

Halloween night we went to our friends Andrew and Alexis's halloween party! It was honestly the best halloween party I have ever been to and will ever go to. It was DECKED out!! Mega Update

New York was amazing!! It was so much fun being with my whole family, including my grandparents, and Brady! We did so many fun things!! It was perfect. It was pretty cold, but we were lucky to never get rain.

This is us all on our first night eating at a local restaurant! I got the biggest sandwich ever. It was so fun!

These pictures are little out of order, but on our last day in the city we went to the Today show! Guess who was there?! Bon Jovi!! We all got on TV! My grandma stayed at the hotel to get ready, and she said she saw us multiple times for a while!! Of course I was so excited. Emily got to chat with Ann Curry for like 10 minutes! She LOVED Emily and her style. We were across the thing from her, so it was fun to watch them talk!

Here we are in Little Italy. It's so fun because literally one block away is China town. It's so crazy how it really feels like you are in Italy...or China...or Mexico. My grandma said something funny after walking through all the little subcultures, he said "Mexico tries to sell you really cheap stuff, China's stuff is a little better, but still the same and Italy tries to sell you food!" Haha! I thought it was funny, because it was so true!!

This is on some pretty cool red stairs that light up at Times Square. Everyone was just hanging out on them. It gives a pretty sweet view!

We took a boat ride around the island and got the best view of the Statue of Liberty. I really like this picture!

We ate at the coolest places! This was just a tiny Italian place with really yummy pizza! The picture doesn't really capture the ambiance.

Next we drove to Palmyra and definitely took the long way! :) It was fun though. We took the scenic route on accident, but it was gorgeous!! Brady got this great picture of the Palmyra temple and the fall colors. Did you know the temple is on the Smith's land? It's pretty cool! The story is one big circle.

This is our family outside Joseph Smith's family home. That is the actual fence that he and his brothers built!! It was so sturdy. The spirit was so strong on these grounds. I couldn't help but cry most of the time.

This is at the visitor's center in Palmyra. It was really pretty!

And last was Canada! This is us at Niagra Falls. It was definitely freezing!!!

Well, our trip was amazing. Traveling with the Buckhannon's is the best! I love my family. More updates to come soon! :)

So I know I have a lot to update on, but it's hard because we don't get great internet in our apt. I just wanted to say that the post below this one was written by my cute Brady! And he is silly, because the website was created by him and his friends. They are all really creative.

Brady has been rapping since high school! He will only rap in front of a select group of people and luckily I am one of them. I remember the first time he did it in front of me and right after he was super embarrassed. I want him to perform at the Velour sometime, because he really is great!! I have a white, rapper husband! Emily's 20th birthday was on Monday! A bunch of her friends went to Texas Road House for dinner and it was so fun!!

I decided I wanted to try and make a cake from the cute cake recipie book my aunt Jennifer gave me for my bridal shower.

Needless to say, it took me longer than I anticipated. It turned out pretty cute (not exactly as I had planned), but it was fun!

Brady and I went to the BYU Cougarboard tailgate party last Saturday followed by the game. That was a huge disappointment. Especially since Brady is their biggest fan this season! It was still fun though :)

GOOD NEWS MINUTE!

Brady has been trying to find a job since we've been back, and let me tell you...it's hard! Everybody is looking for a job!! I am lucky I got to keep my job at UVU with the developmental math department. So Brady has applied everywhere. He finally got a job one day a week at Blockbuster, but when he went to fill out his "New Hire" papers, they told him they were putting a hold on hiring people. We were pretty sad. Then I found this job on the UVU Job board for an on campus job at the testing center. He applied and got a call for an interview the next day. I had to go to the testing center for work and over the years, I've become good friends with the people who work there. I told them Brady had an interview there and they told me 60 people applied for the job and only 8 got an interview! I was freaking out. Brady's interview went great!! That night we went to the temple and I just felt like everything would be okay. In the end, Brady got a call today saying he got the job!!! It's so perfect! It's great hours and when there is no school, there is no work. Which is how it is for me too! I am just so grateful. Brady and I have been blessed once again!

OKAY! So I know I don't have a ton to update on, but I do have a lot of pictures to put up! Some of these are way over due, but the last month has been pretty chaotic.

First. When I was in Texas, I was dying to get my hair done. But I didn't have my wonderful Jenny to do it for me! I was also trying to save money, so I went to WalMart. That's right. I bought a box! GASP! When I went to BYU Hawaii, I highlighted my own hair with a box and it turned out amazing!!

While at WalMart, I met an older woman who was looking at hair color boxes too. We started talking and she became my reason for completely doing this to my hair. Brady was coming in town that night to visit for the day and I wanted to look extra cute!

This is my before shot....don't judge. Seriously. It's also very dirty.

As you can see...this is nothing a little baby powder could cover. I needed something SERIOUS!

So after the box dye, my roots were slightly orange. I cried, but got over it 10 minutes later. My mom (who hadn't even seen it) convinced me on the phone that it was probably better than my roots. TRUE.

Ok next on the list of updates. My last day at SeaWorld was bitter sweet. I was so excited to get back to Utah to be with my sister, cousins, friends and Brady, but it was a little sad.

I was able to go meet a couple of the Beluga Whales! I got to do some of the tricks the trainers get to do. It was so fun! I officially love these animals. They really have a mind of their own.

When I got home from Texas I went to DI in search for some bedroom furniture. You know what? I love good deals and I love crafts. That's why I love DI...sometimes. But this time, it was great!!! I found a nightstand for $5 and a tall dresser for $8. Yeah...$13 all together. Saweet. My sister emily helped me redo them. Here are the before and after pics. I haven't put hardware on them yet, but you can get the idea.

So as you all know, I said yes to my apartment before I even saw it. I had Amanda go look at it for me and she said yes, so I said YES! Lauren came with me for the first time to see it and I was insta-in-love. Cutest neighborhood. Kids everywhere. Safe. And our landlords were out in their garden...precious. Anyway, our apartment is the bomb.

This is Brady and all of our crap everywhere. As you can tell by his face, moving is not fun haha.

The first night Brady got home we slept on an air mattress. Hi--it was like deflated by the time we woke up in the morning. So that day we went and bought a bed. This is not our comforter...it's some suede one that Brady has had his whole life and he thinks it's the coolest. I am not really a fan. Don't judge.

A couple days ago my grandma's husband was so nice to drive up all of our wedding gifts and some of our furniture. We FINALLY have gotten everything moved in!!! There are still some finishing touches, but it feels so good to be in a clean home without any boxes. Here are some pictures!!

So I really need to put up some pictures of our new apartment!!! I feel like I have been moving non stop for 3 weeks. I love our apartment! It is huge and so perfect for me and Brady. We bought our first bed last saturday (king size baby!) and we are loving it!! Our mattress in Texas was horrible and the first night Brady got back to Utah we slept on an air mattress. So pretty much we are in heaven with our new bed.

We are going to buy our couches today and then we are pretty much finished with furniture, but we do need a tv. Does anybody have a tv or know anyone with a tv that they don't use or are selling? We are poor haha

Well I will put some pics up later. The internet is not very good in our basement :)

So first of all, I would just like to say how excited I was that my cute husband wrote is first blog post on our blog!! I love him!

Second...we found a place to live!!! I had been talking with a guy about an apartment in Orem, but Brady and I both felt uneasy about it. Everything was perfect, but it just didn't feel right. Today as I continued the search I came upon what seemed to be the perfect listing.

After calling the landlords, talking to Brady and my parents and having my friend Amanda go see the apartment (thanks!!) I finally confirmed that we wanted it!! It's in Lindon, UT and it's way close to the freeway so it will only take about 5 minutes to get to school. After I got off the phone with the man, I cried a little because I was just so grateful for the spirit leading me and that I listened. What a blessing! We get to move in on Saturday!! :)

It's like a drug. I cannot stop watching Law & Order: Criminal Intent. WHERE DO THEY GET THE IDEAS FOR THE STORY LINE?! For real. They get me every time and they're always on in big clumps. 6 episodes in a row.

The key to not getting hookered out of 3-4 hours of your life (and "hookered" is a word when used properly - this being the one of those times) is to catch the episode in the middle and then change the channel before the you see the conclusion. It is the only way, I promise you that there is no other escape. If you do not do that, than you have a 95% chance of staying and watching the beginning of the next episode which, by the way, will start IMMEDIATELY after the episode's conclusion. No commercial break.

At this point you're totally screwed. You're screwed because the writers are Jedi Masters when in comes to capturing human curiosity - and they only need 60 to 90 seconds to hypnotize you. After that, it's game over. You are reeled in for the remainder of the program and all of the others that follow it. You're done when they say your done... or your wife comes out in to the living room and says that it is 3 in the morning and it is time to go to bed.

In other news, Brittany and I have been doing a puzzle the past couple of days. In the time we've spent trying to put it all together I've realized that my wife has a steel vault for all the catch phrases and jingles from various T.V. commercials. We'll keep the T.V. on and Brittany will sing right along with every ad. Old Navy has been airing this one commercial where the mannequins are supposed to be alive, well not really but they have voices and are talking amongst themselves about how the one mannequin is going to break up with the other mannequin cause she got different jeans... anyway, it has been on at least 30 times and Brittany laughs out loud every time. It is beyond me. She really is an interesting girl.

We saw The Time Travelers Wife the other night and I give it my personal recommendation to anyone out there on the fence about it. One of my friends status on Facebook read: "Just finished reading, The Time Travelers Wife and it was better than the Harry Potter series and Twilight series... combined." Brittany and I really liked it. Brittany cried a bit. And by a bit I mean a lot. It is probably a great idea for a date if you're wanting to lock down a first kiss for all you single readers out there.

Ok so most of you know that I check craigslist and KSL almost hourly to try and find the perfect place for Brady and I to live. It is so ridiculous how expensive the Provo/Orem area is! I hate how they take advantage of all the students. Well ok it's smart, and it like supply in demand...but still!

Does anyone have any hook ups or ideas or ANYTHING they can help me with?! I'm flying back to Utah on August 21 to hopefully secure the place we will be living this year. Let me know! :)

1. Anything that is sad...I cried when I first saw the WalMart commercial where the mom sends her daughter to college haha
2. When I've done something stupid and I know it's my fault.
3. Yep definitely PMS :)

Three things that will make me angry
1. When someone lies
2. When people talk bad about the people you love (and they don't know you know them)
3. Teachers who think they are so cool and assign a million assignments just to boost their ego

Three "perfect dates"
1. Since dating Brady, I've really come to love going to the movies. Dinner and a movie :)
2. Dinner then going on the lake on a boat at night (we did that last summer while we were dating. PERFECT!)
3. Playing nertz with friends
